I remember that phone call well. Katina had called and told me Chris had asked the question. As we have been to a handful of great weddings, including an epic wedding adventure in Aruba with Aaron and Melissa, I just KNEW this would be a highlight of the year. I was right. I got to introduce them and their vision to the Semple Mansion in Minneapolis and they fell immediately in love. Talk about finding the absolute perfect dress to fit the mansion! The Basilica of St. Mary's was warm and welcoming as guests poured in to witness their vows. I definitely was a little trigger happy as we laughed all day long. Thank you friends, and I know our paths will cross often!

Annie and Ryan are cut from the same cloth. Their excitement for life bubbles out of them through their eyes and giddy grins. Put them together on their wedding day and my heart just burst. Annie sang with me in my stellar youth choir days at Normandale Lutheran Church in Edina and our families have been friends for years. We got to celebrate her brother's wedding together a couple years back and I remember her telling me to save a date for her some day. That day finally came and Ryan played the part of her groom just perfectly. What a pair! In the midst of all the action, we took a moment away from guests to let our hair down and get our feet wet. Golden Valley CC was abuzz all night as both definitely have some social friends and family. Everyone, including myself, felt it a privilege to be apart of this momentous day.

Fun fact: I have a big crush on the playground of lakes located in the greater Brainerd area, as I get to spend a chunk of time during the year retreating to our place near the Whitefish chain. In the summer, the towns come alive with eager Minnesotans trying to soak of the best rays of sun and a good wake. My fishing pole is by my bedside to catch the sunrise in hopes of luring a largemouth bass to the mirrored surface. It is the source of my creative refueling. Every once in while, I get to join a couple that shares that same affinity for "Up North."

Sarah and Mike came to me over a year ago with a dream destination wedding and a creative spin to tie in their love for the lake life. We had fun dreaming and scheming, involving some good mutual friends along the way. The ceremony spilled over along the shore as the 200 gathered watched the sun sink on the horizon. In place of a limo following the ceremony, the couple opted for His and Her deckboats to cruise the lake. As champaign corks popped, the laughter could be heard from across the lake. Thank you for an amazing weekend in paradise!

What a stellar couple! I have never seen two sets of parent so happy for a union; and everyone present knew how special it was. Chris and Tracey gave me a lot of creative freedom to utilize all Ramsey had to offer. Lord of Life Church with its stunning stain glass provided a wonderful backdrop for the ceremony as there was not a dry eye in the house. Tracey is self-proclaimed "thrifty" as she found some creative ways to add color and texture all over Edinbourgh GC. The night rocked on as both sets of parents debut their secret dreams of being in a lip synch band bringing everyone to their feet. Love makes you do some crazy things... Thank you for the warm welcome into the family, I felt right at home.

No, the wedding date is not a typo. Didn't you know that Tuesday is the new Saturday in wedding planning? ;) If that doesn't impress you, these two planned everything in two weeks! The strategy is brilliant actually, and I don't think the couple would have had it any other way. When AJ proposed and Sonja said "yes!," they were ready to be roommates and start their lives together. One of their first calls came to our studio and it went something like, "Does Andrew have next Saturday available?....No?....OK how bout say, a Tuesday? Perfect."

What fun we had! The church they selected was an old tar-sealed Norwegian church on the campus of Luther Seminary and had a long line of family ties. Due to the fact that very few people could fit into the church to witness their sacred vows, photographic art from the day became a top priority. Following the intimate ceremony, Sonja's one request was a picture of them on their scooter as a couple, an awesome idea! A delicious dinner at the local steak house topped off the day and away they went on their honeymoon. What an adventure-filled life they will share together in the years to come. Blessings to you both; Janelle and I are so excited to be on this journey with you!

Bethel University holds a special place in my heart already, as it was the alma mater of my new wife. When Bethany and TK wanted to tie Bethel into their storyline on their wedding day, I have to be honest....I was a little excited! Their first meeting at the end of the dock gave me goosebumps and I knew the day would be a special one. God smiled big this day as the two exchanged vows in from of both families. I am so excited for what is yet to come for you both, He has big plans indeed!

Mary is that sweet southern girl that everyone prays for to find the love of her life, the perfect fit, her man of her dreams. After all, it was what this incredible woman deserves. Mark is coy, cunning, funny, and just fits so perfectly with Mary. And everyone at the party knew that to be true as the many tears would tell. The day could not have been planned more perfect, with a wonderful celebration at the Semple Mansion that followed. "Aunt Mary" obviously a favorite of all the nieces and nephews got pulled into a game curbside as truck after truck sped by honking their horn in amusement. What a fun bunch and glorious day. I was blessed and taken back by the beauty.

When Paul first contacted me about his wedding, I could tell he was a little excited. Normally a pretty calm, cool dude, between talking photography and marrying his best friend I got to see a touch of his romantic side. (sorry Paul, I had to tell it how it is!) This guy is totally in love with this sweet lucky girl, and it was so hard to keep the camera from roasting through thousands of images. I could also see just how much their friends truly love and support them as a pair. Your love story is amazing, and thank you for the honor to capture it.

I simply couldn't wait for this wedding to come! Kristen's family became instant friends of mine at her brother's wedding and I was excited to be adopted again. Christian is as nice a guy as they come and rather laid back, a great balance for all the energy that Kristen lives from. I never would question what Kristen was thinking....ever. Man did we have fun! Earlier in the morning, I asked the neighbor farmer for permission to use their barns and fields. The sun was out in all its glory creating some bright and breathtaking images. Fortunately for me, it was pre-allergy season so I survived and had a wonderful collection of images to show for our adventures. The evening flowed into a perfect night of robust food and zany dancing at Lafayette Country Club. Thank you to the Kleins and Neves for inviting me in to document the fun. Kristen and Christen, you guys are the best!

Over a year ago I remember getting the most excited message complete with dozens of exclamation marks. It was from Julia, and she had fallen hard in love with a boy that treated her so well. As we have many mutual friends and I remembered her well from other weddings, my heart leaped with shared excitement. As she built the vision for her day, words could not do justice to just how immaculate every aspect of their day was. The two had some of the best creative talent in Julia's mom Barbara who toiled for months to create the lavish gardens the guests would soon enjoy, and Rita Swanson of Premier Planning Services who was an artist in her own right to weave all the details of the day together so perfectly.

This dream day started out at Julia & Kye's vintage home they had been sculpting as they spent quality moments with friends before meeting for the first time under the garden's trellis. As we added these friends to the day's images, you could just feel the momentum build. The ceremony was spectacular as the guests heard a very personal message from their pastor from their days in Colorado. The two love living life to its fullest, and their transparent love was soaked up deeply on this day. Part of their love story consisted of being ski instructors in Colorado, so as part of a fun surprise to their day, we added ski gear to the guest cam making for some wonderful candid moments. As the sun set, everyone knew this would be a day not soon forgotten. Much love to you both!
