I love when two beautiful hearts align and everyone feels it throughout the wedding day.  I had this day starred on my calendar for months, as both Janie and Matt gave me a unique window into their lives leading up to the day.  I had a long leash to be creative and hunt down some funky settings that just seemed to fit these city-loving hipsters.  October was an odd month this year but what a day we had as we explored along the riverbank in St. Paul before ending up at the Minnesota History Center for the ensuing party.  Janie's brother was serving overseas and couldn't be with us, however a seat was held for him in his honor.  What incredible families and all enjoyed soaking up the love in the room all night long.  You two are a stellar team; Janelle and I adore you both.

I love the Fall but even more so when a wedding party doesn't mind toughing out the cold to get the shot.  While exploring the woods before their wedding, I stumbled across the most incredible oak in the midst of sugar maples that was crying to be photographed.  Katie and Patrick get stars for handling an unusual cold spell in October in the hunt for fall color.  Upon meeting for the first time in the cozy dark lower level of Westwood Church, Patrick had a grin he couldn't wipe off.  The party rolled on to the Carlson Towers where the laughter and stories were contagious.  Thank you both so very much!

Micheal has been a good friend for many years.  His heart condition for service and people is so evident in everything he does.  When our friends started hearing about this "Melissa," we knew she had to be good.  However she exceeded all expectations, and Mike would the be the first to agree!  This pair is so sweet and tender together, I am excited to see what this new team will do the rest of their lives.  They envisioned an English Tea Party feel and boy I never thought a party around tea could be so much fun!  Friends and family kept the Gale Mansion abuzz until close and we all left with big smiles and a warm feeling in our stomach.

I really met Beth and Charlie a couple years back at his brother Neil's wedding to Heather (a stunning couple in their own right!).  Then, I could tell Charlie to be a lighthearted loyal guy and Beth to be that solid, dependable foundation every incredible relationship needs.  When I got the call that they were getting married, I probably had the same reaction many other close friends had..."Duh, they are perfect."  It was a fun energy in Dinkytown as the U of M were playing our their classic border battle with the Badgers--places were packed!  The Loring Pasta Bar served as a peaceful oasis and is as beautiful and funky a venue as you can find, but not to be overshadowed by the kickin' party that would ensue next door at The Varsity Theater.  We try so hard to create images that do parties justice, but honestly this was one of those hair-raising moments that by walking into the room even dropped the jaw of the photographer.  I love your hearts and am so blessed to have shared in this journey with you two!  I know our paths will cross often.

I wish I could relive this day all over again.  Traci is such a sweetheart!  I ask couples if they ever need any help along the way in planning or suggestions of people to call on; these two took me up on my offer and invited a creative dream team into their celebration and planning!  As the dress went on, Cinderella came to life and the tear-filled eyes started to spread across the room like a ripples on a lake.  Jason was even in awe as the two had a tender, private moment at the altar and exchanged unique gifts.  The two put their trust in our creative vision for the day and we headed off!  Even though the wedding party may have thought some of the settings to be a bit strange, they felt right at home at Champs toasting to the happy couple!  Traci bounced her way from field to field spinning like a top in Jason's arms.  What wonderful new friends and I am so excited for you both!  Thank you for your many kind words; they mean the world.

We can't believe 2010 is upon us!  I hope you all had a fabulous New Year.  Our travels at the Living Room Studios took us from Fargo to the Rocky Mountains.  We also got to celebrate the birth of a new addition to our Living Room Studios family.  So much to share; we have been storing up some stunning new images from fall as well as some kickin' ski images from our wedding in Steamboat, CO.  We have enjoyed the feedback from you about from our new posts online; look forward to more fun in the coming weeks.
