Melissa finished the last touches with her dress and strolled her way across Rice Park to meet her groom Michael.  To this day, there is still something so fairy tale about seeing a girl dressed in white in that enchanting park with the back drop of the historic Landmark Center.  I had picked out some nooks around downtown St. Paul that I have been excited to use, including a short jaunt across the river.  The Minnesota History Center with its purple reflections could not have complimented the reception decor more perfectly.  Tall pampas grasses were a hit, not to mention orchids of many colors and sizes.  As the wine flowed, gourmet dish after dish made its way through the party to everyone's bliss.  Dancing closed off the night with little girl after little girl waiting in line to try out Melissa's veil.  What a touching scene.

I remember the call from Kelly well.  She was thrilled to be getting married to Tom and had the fun challenge of coordinating an out-of-state wedding.  They were living in California and had an incredible sense for style and elegance.  Tom's guys cracked me up all day, and I could see that their ties go way back.  The St. Paul Cathedral was the perfect setting for this stylish couple, its grandeur is unlike any other place in Minnesota that I have seen.  As the two decided not to see each other beforehand, the photographic moments just following their ceremony with the two of them were particularly great!  We adventured down Grand Avenue in St. Paul to celebrate and toast the attractive couple.  317 on Rice Park played host to their reception and was as warm and inviting a place as one could ask for on this monumental day.  I hope to see you both again soon, maybe in Santa Barbara next time?  Blessings friends!

When I first met this tandem, I was immediately struck by Nate's adoration of Leah.  He is a guy who KNOWS he has it good getting to marry this incredible lady.  His enthusiasm for life and relationships drew me in and I just love the heart and intentionality they put behind this celebration.  It was a perfect mix of Nate's love for fun and Leah's class.  The two love the Gophers.  I mean, a little obsessed in this case is a great thing.   For months we watched as they finished the last touches on the new TCF Football Stadium at the heart of campus.  As Nate is employed by the Gophers, we had an all-access pass to venture to the top suites, the Gopher locker room, even rush the field and practice our best touchdown celebrations!  It was any Golden Gopher fan dream day and I had to continuously pinch myself.  The party flowed back to the urban International Market Square where the two got to be stars in their own personal "Superbowl of life."  As the sky grew dark and the skyline glistened, one final stroll to close out the evening was especially memorable.  It was an honor to be with you two and consider you friends.

I love when two beautiful hearts align and everyone feels it throughout the wedding day.  I had this day starred on my calendar for months, as both Janie and Matt gave me a unique window into their lives leading up to the day.  I had a long leash to be creative and hunt down some funky settings that just seemed to fit these city-loving hipsters.  October was an odd month this year but what a day we had as we explored along the riverbank in St. Paul before ending up at the Minnesota History Center for the ensuing party.  Janie's brother was serving overseas and couldn't be with us, however a seat was held for him in his honor.  What incredible families and all enjoyed soaking up the love in the room all night long.  You two are a stellar team; Janelle and I adore you both.

I love the Fall but even more so when a wedding party doesn't mind toughing out the cold to get the shot.  While exploring the woods before their wedding, I stumbled across the most incredible oak in the midst of sugar maples that was crying to be photographed.  Katie and Patrick get stars for handling an unusual cold spell in October in the hunt for fall color.  Upon meeting for the first time in the cozy dark lower level of Westwood Church, Patrick had a grin he couldn't wipe off.  The party rolled on to the Carlson Towers where the laughter and stories were contagious.  Thank you both so very much!

Micheal has been a good friend for many years.  His heart condition for service and people is so evident in everything he does.  When our friends started hearing about this "Melissa," we knew she had to be good.  However she exceeded all expectations, and Mike would the be the first to agree!  This pair is so sweet and tender together, I am excited to see what this new team will do the rest of their lives.  They envisioned an English Tea Party feel and boy I never thought a party around tea could be so much fun!  Friends and family kept the Gale Mansion abuzz until close and we all left with big smiles and a warm feeling in our stomach.
