PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION

Your session is approaching and we are here to put your mind at ease by better preparing you for your session. Below are a few helpful tips to let your confidence and radiance shine through.

Please contact us with any questions at portraits@livingroomstudios.com or 952-929-4295

Headshots

Prepare your wardrobe. Think about what makes you feel like your most professional self and the brand you want to portray. Keep in mind to avoid clothes that are too revealing or that restrict movement

Bring a few alternate accessories or a jacket so you have different looks to choose from

Bring makeup and hair styling tools to freshen up your look before your session

If your shoot will be outdoors, don't forget to dress for the weather

Bring in a professional. Consider hiring a makeup artist or having your hair professionally styled at a salon. We have plenty of wonderful recommendations if you’re interested. A day trip to the barber can be a nice way to spruce up for your close ups and make sure your beard and hair are professionally manicured

Don’t fret about the weather if your session is outdoors. Since we’re located in Minnesota, we are used to unpredictable weather! We have an indoor studio space at the Living Room Studios in St. Louis Park and have a lot of creative ideas to work around unexpected weather. Unless it is raining, we can still photograph outdoors. If it does rain, you do have the option to reschedule to our next open booking without losing your session fee. Keep in mind some the greatest light for shooting is on an overcast day

Arrive early to review your wardrobe and accessory choices with Andrew and to freshen up your hair and makeup. We want you to feel at ease and not rushed

Relax, be yourself, smile, and don't overthink it!

Corporate Groups

What to bring. As the photo coordinator for your event, please discuss apparel with your team in advance of your photo shoot date. You will want to coordinate colors and style if possible. Please reach out to us if you would like additional tips for your group photo, as each group is unique

What to wear. This depends on the group's brand. Try to stay in the same color family and go light or dark but not both. When in doubt, keep it classic and simple. A few common tips are to avoid loud patterns, plaids, florals, stripes, and instead choose solid colors that compliment one another

Order Wrap Up

After you receive your gallery, we’ll connect to review your favorite photos and talk through customizing the perfect products for you. This is one of our favorite parts of our time together and any family members are welcome to come along.
