Ally and Colton
Wedding Date: August 14th 2024
There’s something extra special about a wedding that feels both elegant and effortless, and Ally and Colton’s day was the perfect example of that. Their wedding at Grand View Lodge was a celebration of love, nature, and the simple joys in life, all wrapped up in the most beautiful setting.
I was excited to see Grand View Lodge’s new offering, Brunch and Bubbly, in action. As a couple who loves food, they were thrilled with the amazing catering. They have also always enjoyed being surrounded by nature. They love hiking together, so the natural beauty of area was ideal for their wedding day. They had their engagement session at Lake Minnetonka had already set a lakeside theme, which they carried into their wedding at Gull Lake.
The day began as Ally and her bridal party got ready in a cozy cabin, filled with the warm buzz of excitement. Colton, who coaches soccer, brought the same warmth and energy to the day as he does each match. I always love chatting with him about my own kids’ soccer games, and it's clear how much he cares about mentoring others. Their first look took place on the front porch of the cabin and then they shared a private exchange of cards at the edge of the woods, enjoying a quiet moment before the ceremony began.
Their ceremony was held in Grand View’s cute chapel, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Though the wedding was small, every guest felt incredibly important and honored to be a part of such an intimate gathering. Once the “I dos” were said, it was time for the much-anticipated brunch! This was my first reception in the Cru Room, and it added a totally unique vibe to the day. We even had the chance to explore the wine cellar (and yes, the wine was amazing!). It gave the reception the feel of a fun, relaxed house party, with everyone mingling, laughing, and raising their glasses to Ally and Colton’s future.
