Brock and Rob
Wedding Date: October 29th 2022
I have a wonderful group of friends that go back to highschool and St. Olaf days. I think the world of all of them, so when they introduced me to one of their friends I knew this was going to be a very special person. Brock certainly did not disappoint and brings joy and life into every room he enters. He’s the life of the party, a caring friend, and someone you definitely want in your friend group. The day he told me he was engaged to the love of his life, I knew I had to be there. In comes Rob, a kindhearted, funny, and compassionate person who is the perfect match for Brock. As we were talking about their love story, I found out I went to school with Rob’s brother. It’s now my Edina and St. Olaf worlds colliding in the best possible way and I knew this was going to be the party of the year.
There was a lot of build up for this day and our friend groups were a buzz in the weeks and months beforehand. When I woke up the morning of their wedding and saw the bright blue sky, I knew the sun was shining just for them and could hardly wait to drive to The Machine Shop. When I walked through the doors I was met with love and joy from every person I spoke with. After a sweet little first look on the balcony, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful day and the stunning Minneapolis surroundings. It didn’t take long before we were all laughing so hard my cheeks began to ach from the constant smile I was wearing. These two are FUN and I felt lucky to get to spend this special day with them.
We set aside some time to celebrate the special people in their lives and have a few big group hugs before their ceremony began. Back inside The Machine Shop, the room was set up for a ceremony in the round which reflected their theater roots. They wanted everyone to feel included and loved, which is such a big part of who they are as people. They have some incredibly talented friends who lent their voices to song after song and joined together in a choir of loving voices. This was one of my favorite ceremonies I’ve ever attended, filled with talent, love, and a lot of laughter too. After they literally danced down the aisle, everyone cheered and wiped away their own happy tears. If I was to use one word to describe their ceremony, it would be joy.
The room seemed to magically turn into a stunning reception hall, thanks to the Amber Terese Events team, while we were sipping cocktails and telling funny stories. Before we knew it, it was time to go back downstairs and toast to the happy couple. They welcomed loved ones from all throughout their relationship to raise a glass. The room went from tears of joy, to tears from laughing too hard all in the same breath. Then it was time for them to take the stage for their first dance. What started out as a classic slow dance quickly became a lively celebration of love and expression of their joy. Once the cheering crowd settled down, their mothers stood up to share a dance as well. The happy tears flowed and the crowd was wiping their eyes with the pretty cloth napkins left on the table.
This was a day I won’t soon forget and I couldn’t be more honored and thankful to capture this portion of their love story. I can’t wait to see where their next chapter takes them!
