Elizabeth and Andy

Wedding Date: January 15th 2021

This day felt like photographing a family member's wedding. I’ve traveled all around the country to photograph Andy’s family, from his brother’s senior photos to many family sessions and weddings, I feel like an honorary cousin! So when I got the call from Andy about his own wedding, I knew it was going to be amazing. He wasn’t really sure where to begin, so without hesitation, I invited them to join me on my patio and dream up the perfect day together.

Fast forward to a sunny winter day in January. I joined them at the always elegant Earl & Wilson for a wedding day to remember. It was bitterly cold, even for January in Minnesota, but I knew that wouldn’t stop this pair from having a great time. The historic venue was the perfect setting for a cozy morning spent with family before heading out into the cold winter air for their first look. We set up a special moment in a back alley to give it an industrial city vibe and their sweet reaction to seeing one another softened the mood in the best possible way. They twirled in the snow and watched their breath freeze in midair as they laughed and talked together. We made our way back inside to warm up a bit with their friends and family before the ceremony began. It was beautifully decorated and everyone was very present and excited. It was like a big family reunion for all of us and everyone cheered after their “I do’s” and began catching up with one another. I felt like I knew nearly every person there and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. After a lot of laughter and sincere toasts, we snuck outside for a few minutes to pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate. Out of their whole day, this was my favorite moment. Watching them laugh together while sipping some bubbly and being present with one another, there’s no better feeling than that. Thank you all for making me feel like one of the family and I can’t wait to join another family gathering soon!
