Elizabeth and Matthew Engagement

I’ve been excited to show off some of my new favorite photo locations around the city, and Elizabeth and Matthew were the perfect fit! They were up for anything and with the extended time of a Local Adventure session, we had plenty of time to explore. We met at my secret spot which boasts one of the best skyline views in the whole city and is always a showstopper. After taking in those priceless city views, we made our way to my new favorite spot, Theodore Wirth Park. It feels like the epitome of why I live in Minnesota, combining nature and an exciting new foodie gathering spot. We enjoyed the sun sparkling off the water on one of the nearby docks. Growing up in Minnesota, learning to fish has always been a right of passage for me, so getting to incorporate the newly added docks filled with hopeful fishermen is an added treat. Then we took a quick break for a wardrobe change and we were off to explore the grassy shores just as the sun set, filling the sky with brilliant oranges and reds.

After their session, we stayed and talked for a while watching the last of the sun on the horizon and I pointed them in the direction of Mill Valley Kitchen to complete their date night. They have a great little food takeaway window that provides farm to table intentional cuisine and is a new favorite of mine. They also boast prosecco on tap, so there’s no better way to end the evening! My favorite advice to give couples before an engagement session is to make it a date night and this new location is perfect for that.
