Jessica and David
Wedding Date: December 1st 2022
There are some places, some smells, some little things in life that immediately transport you back to another moment in time. The Saint Paul College Club is that place for me, when I’m flooded with happy memories the second I step foot in the door and stand in that foyer where my life changed forever. Jessica and David wanted a small romantic wedding, so when they told me they were considering the Saint Paul College Club, I knew we were all in for a treat.
The morning of their wedding, I woke up to freshly fallen snow and the dusting on the bare branches gave the appearance of walking inside an enchanted snow globe. I met with Jessica in the bridal suite where she was just putting on the finishing touches before we went downstairs for her and David’s first look. He stood at the end of the aisle surrounded by empty chairs that would soon be filled with loved ones as they exchanged their vows. This sweet pair giggled and gazed into one another's eyes exchanging full paragraphs with a simple glance.
Before the ceremony began we all donned our winter gear and ventured outside to enjoy the winter wonderland. The warm glowing sun and bright white snow made for the most beautiful color palette and I think I could have stayed out there all day if it wasn’t for my fingers starting to freeze. We made it back inside before the first guests arrived and all warmed up before the big event. Everyone took their place as music filled the hall and Jessica walked down the grand staircase to meet David at the end of the aisle once again. Just like earlier that day, the pair giggled and gazed into each other's eyes, but this time they said their “I do’s” to a crowd of cheering friends and family.
As the sun set and the pair mingled with their guests, I found myself in the foyer once again and I was filled with the happiest memory I could imagine. Years ago when I was still in the early years of being a wedding photographer, I was capturing a wedding at the Saint Paul College Club. They were friends and I remember they ran in the same circle as my lifelong crush and girl of my dreams. It had been so long since I had last seen her so all day I was holding my breath hoping she would appear but sadly I was left searching. Then, as I stood near the foyer holding my camera, the doors swung open and in walked Janelle. I snapped a photo of the moment she literally walked back into my life and has been here ever since.
I wish Jessica and David all the happiness in the world and am happy they can be another love story held within these historic walls.
