Katie & Joe Destination: Ely, Minnesota

Wedding Date: July 20th 2019

The Boundary Waters Canoe Area has always had a special place in my heart from our many fishing trips as kids, to run-ins with bears and wildlife. Ely was always the gateway, the last sleepy town to launch into a world of adventure. Katie and Joe used Ely in much the same way, as they launched into their own world of life's adventures and extended a paddle to a small group of friends and family to join in the fun. The day began atop a historic chalet with architecture inspired by the Alps and views that stretched as far as the eye could see. We made our way to Ely Presbyterian Church, a home base for Katie's family. Before the backyard tent bash and 2-story bouncy house, my photographer friend Profit and I along with the wedding party, had time to make some memories around town. The sun bid us farewell across the BWCA wilderness and the call for adventure was felt by all.
