Wedding Date: April 23rd 2022

An April wedding in Minnesota can always be a bit of a risk because there could be snow or it could be a wild 70 degrees. Luckily for Kayla and Casey, luck was on their side and it turned out to be the first true taste of spring and the most perfect day all around. I joined them at the beautiful 7 Vines Vineyard where we were all welcomed with open arms and warm hospitality from everyone at the venue.

Kayla is a lovely calm presence and was relaxed and excited for the big day. However, no one is immune to the excitement of the first look so I could start seeing those butterflies whirl around as I left her to join Casey and set up the scene. They both closed their eyes and took in a deep breath as soon as Kayla’s footsteps could be heard on the pavement behind him. But the moment they saw one another, it was all smiles and laughter for the rest of the day. They seemed to float through group photos without a care in the world and would get lost in each other's eyes from time to time between photos (happily I caught a few of those moments too!) We all made our way inside for a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family. There were so many faces in the crowd that they hadn’t seen for far too long, so they had an extended cocktail hour to mingle and catch up with their loved ones. The sun shone down on everyone and we all enjoyed the perfect weather and preview of summer while I took the couple out for a walk among the vines.

Their reception was filled with heartfelt toasts and sweet dances, not to mention the incredible food! As the night went on, we heard raindrops falling against the windows. When I asked Kayla if they wanted to go for a dance in the rain, her response was, “absolutely!” To me, these last few images really encapsulate who they are; loving, carefree, and up for an adventure even if it means dancing in the rain on your wedding day.
