Leah and Andrew: I Do Day
I Do Day: December 27 2024
Some wedding days are full of grandeur, while others are quiet and deeply personal and Leah and Andrew’s “I Do Day” was the perfect blend of both. With plans for a big celebration in 2025, they chose to mark the beginning of their next chapter with a small, intimate ceremony surrounded by those who matter most. And let me tell you, it was pure joy from start to finish.
We met at the Minnesota State Capitol, which honestly felt like the perfect backdrop for their day. The architecture was absolutely stunning, the marble gleaming, the soft winter light pouring in through the high windows. And the best part? We had the place completely to ourselves.
Andrew arrived first, a bundle of excitement and nerves, and just a few minutes later, Leah stepped through the doors. Their first look was sweet and emotional, the kind of moment where everything else fades away. You could just feel the calm settle over both of them as soon as their eyes met. We spent the next half hour wandering through the beautiful interior of the Capitol. It felt like walking through a museum after hours, peaceful, grand, and completely magical. The two of them laughed, twirled, and took it all in. The setting, with its sweeping staircases and golden light, gave us the most incredible backdrop. We gathered their immediate families for photos, and the joy just multiplied. Everyone was smiling, dressed to the nines, and truly honored to witness such a meaningful day for Leah and Andrew.
Then we moved into the rotunda for the ceremony. Surrounded by history, under the dome, they stood hand in hand and said the words that would change everything. Their vows were heartfelt and full of personality, funny, sweet, and entirely them. They exchanged beers during the ceremony, a super cute and personal touch that had everyone smiling. As soon as they were officially married, the hugs began. You could feel just how loved these two are, and how much this day meant to every person there.
We stepped outside for sunset photos, and wow, the Capitol looked absolutely stunning as the sun went down. The sky turned soft and dusky blue, and the building glowed behind them as they walked hand-in-hand across the steps. With just the three of us outside, it felt like the world had paused for a minute.
We arrived at the cozy reception, where drinks were poured, and everyone raised their glasses to toast the newlyweds. The toasts were heartfelt and full of love, the kind that made you laugh one minute and tear up the next. It was clear these two are surrounded by friends and family who have supported them before they met and have cheered them on ever since. Leah and Andrew spent the evening exactly how they’d hoped, sharing good food and drinks with good company, soaking in every little moment, and starting this new chapter together in the best way.
This “I Do Day” may have been small in guest count, but it was huge in meaning. It was full of fun, love, and intention, exactly what they wanted it to be.
