Lucy and Zachary

Wedding Date: May 2nd 2026

There's something wonderfully unconventional about a wedding celebration that starts with the vows already spoken, and Lucy and Zachary's night at The Grand 1858 carried that energy in the very best way. The two of them had eloped in Alaska just before this, a truly adventurous way to say I do, and by the time they arrived in Minneapolis, the whole evening had one single purpose: pure, unfiltered celebration.

Lucy's dress told a story all on its own. Still faintly marked along the hem with traces of Alaska mud from the adventure that came with saying their vows out there, it was proof that this was a couple who chased something real before they chased something photogenic. Zachary looked every bit the part beside her in his suit.

The second they walked into their reception, the room erupted. Loud cheers, applause, the kind of welcome that tells you immediately just how loved these two are. They wasted no time diving into their first dance, and it was nothing but smiles and laughter from start to finish.

Sweet toasts followed from both Lucy and Zachary, and then from their families, warm words layered with genuine love. The parent dances that came next brought their own sweet touch to the night, a nice contrast to the big, boisterous energy that had filled the room just minutes before.

Later in the evening, I pulled Lucy and Zachary away for a few minutes and we slipped down to the riverside, where the Minneapolis skyline opened up behind them, lights glittering against the night sky. They danced together out there, twirling under the stars with the city as their backdrop. After a wedding that started thousands of miles away in the Alaskan wilderness, that quiet moment by the river felt like the perfect way to bring the whole story home. A celebration, through and through, exactly as they intended.
