Mackenzie and Alec

Wedding Date: September 10th 2022

This one feels very close to home both literally and figuratively. When Amy at the Edina Country Club met Mackenzie and Alec, she had them contact us right away and we’re so happy she did! They both have a similar energy and the first time we met felt like catching up with old friends. I definitely have to thank her for playing matchmaker as it completely felt meant to be!

On the morning of their wedding, I drove to the Church of St. Patrick in Edina, which is pretty much in my backyard. I take the boys swimming nearby and I even used to be a golf coach at their reception venue, Edina Country Club. It all felt like a trip down memory lane and gathering with friends I’ve known for years. Mackenzie and Alec were joyful, warm, and welcoming from the second I stepped foot into the church. We had some fun with finishing touches as Mackenzie and her close knit crew got ready for the day. She asked to set aside some time for her and her father to have a special moment before her first look. Filled with both tears and laughter, this sweet moment gives me goosebumps just thinking of it! Then we were off to meet with Alec as he waited just outside at the bottom of the stairs. They instantly threw their arms around one another and in that moment became two halves of one whole.

Their beautiful ceremony concluded with a dramatic first kiss out of the pages of a fairytale at the end of the aisle. Then it was time to go down memory lane for them as well. We traveled to Coalition on 50th and France where they had their first date. It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves even though casual onlookers were taken by these two lovebirds sharing a celebratory toast in their wedding attire. This felt like the Edina greatest hits and made my heart swell with pride and admiration for this great place I get to call home. We met up with the rest of their wedding party at the lake to take in the gorgeous scenery and enjoy the ideal September weather. Then we made our way to Edina Country Club to close out the night in style!

The couple twirled on the dancefloor with Mackenzie’s dress elegantly flowing around her with every move. Before the night was finished, we made our way outside for some stunning night photos. We stood under the stars and started to reminisce about the day. What a perfect way to end a wonderful day.
