Maggie and Kevin
Wedding Date: August 27th 2021
This momentous event wasn’t just a coming together of a couple, but a coming together of two families. Both Maggie and Kevin are incredibly close with their families and therefore, their families became close with one another. From the very first moment I stepped foot into their rehearsal dinner at Minikahda, I knew this was a close knit group and it was going to be a very, very special day. I joined Maggie at her parents house the next morning while all of her closest girlfriends waited anxiously to see her in her dress. When the moment came, everyone screamed in excitement and even shed a few tears. I’ll say it again, this group is close. I really felt like part of the family as we all ventured to Interlachen to meet up with the guys and for Maggie and Kevin’s beautiful first look. Their ceremony took place at the nearby Colonial Church and the pastor was another extension of their near-family and fun fact, I’ve known him for nearly 30 years too! After a grand exit, the couple boarded their very own Interlachen golf cart to take the slow drive back to the course. Wait, what?! I’m still not sure how they pulled this one off but I’m completely on board! I jogged alongside the cart as the couple giggled and puttered their way through the backroads all the way back to Interlachen. We timed it just right when we got there because rain had just blown through so the whole course was empty and waiting for us. The greens were extra vivid and these two happy golfers were in their element. We could have walked the course for the rest of the evening, but we hurried back to the ballroom where beautiful flowers and Delft blue vases awaited us at each table. The hospitality and food was amazing, as always, and then it was time for the dance. Maggie was part of the dance team growing up so she leaned over to me at one point and said, “I’m ready to get after it tonight.” I laughed, but she wasn’t kidding. She pulled out dance moves that would impress anyone and her dad even got on board with a choreographed father daughter dance. The evening flew by in a whirlwind of laughter, dance moves, and family. Thank you all for inviting me into your crew for the weekend and to one of the best dance parties around!
