There's a particular kind of anticipation that settles over a groom waiting at the end of the aisle, and Thomas wore his on his sleeve. Practically buzzing with excitement, eyes locked on the aisle, counting down the seconds until Michel appeared. The ceremony at Church of St. Peter in Mendota unfolded with all the grace of tradition, soft light filtering through the sanctuary, flowers in rich shades of pink and red woven throughout the space, giving the whole ceremony this warm, romantic glow that felt both timeless and completely their own.

Once the vows were spoken and the church emptied out, we made our way into the city, and what followed felt less like a photo session and more like an afternoon spent wandering through a love letter to Minneapolis itself. Nicollet Island welcomed us first, cobblestone streets underfoot, the river winding alongside as we moved from spot to spot, the historic charm of the area giving us backdrop after backdrop.

Before long, Michel and Thomas's closest friends joined the fun, and the energy shifted into something even livelier. We made our way to Mill City Park, that gorgeous open green space stretched out in front of the Guthrie. Minneapolis has a way of showing off when the light is right, and that afternoon, it did not disappoint.

From there we headed to Jax Cafe for the reception, and if you've never been, the place has a bit of magic built right into it, including an actual trout pond on the property. Thomas took full advantage, catching his own fish right there before dinner even started, a wonderfully unexpected little adventure tucked into an already memorable day. Toasts followed from friends and family throughout dinner, warm and full of affection, rounding out a day that had already given us church bells, cobblestone streets, city skylines, and now, apparently, a groom with fishing skills to boot!
