Wedding Date: June 26th 2026

There's something wonderfully classic about getting married at Minneapolis City Hall, standing on that grand marble staircase in the main hall, surrounded by nothing but a handful of the people who matter most. Peter and Courtney chose exactly that kind of intimacy for their ceremony, and the whole thing felt absolutely perfect.

Courtney's mentor Phil officiated, and you could feel the weight of that choice in every word he spoke. This wasn't some stranger reciting a script, it was someone who genuinely knows Courtney standing up there guiding her and Peter through one of the biggest moments of their lives. Their vows were heartfelt, and I don't think either of them stopped smiling through a single word of it. That kind of joy is impossible to manufacture, and it made for some of my favorite images of the whole day.

We spent some time afterward soaking in the building's architecture, City Hall's grand marble columns and soaring ceilings making for a backdrop that honestly needed very little help from me. From there we swung by their place to say hello to their three dogs, because no wedding day is complete without a little chaos and a lot of tail wagging.

The rest of the afternoon took us through the Mill City area, weaving past the river with the city skyline rising up behind us, then over toward Stone Arch Bridge with views of the Guthrie in the distance. Every stop gave us something new, new light, new angles, new little pockets of the city that felt like they belonged entirely to Peter and Courtney for the afternoon.

We wrapped the day at Alma, tucked into University Avenue, cozy and warm in a way that felt like the perfect counterpoint to the grandeur of City Hall earlier in the day. Toasts flowed for the new couple as the sun dipped behind the skyline outside the windows, a beautifully understated way to close out a day that had been full of quiet, genuine love from start to finish.
