Wedding Date: May 7th 2026

There's something about a morning wedding that feels different from every other kind, quieter, the whole day still waking up right alongside the couple. Samantha finished getting ready inside Vang Lutheran Church that morning, and I swear the whole scene looked pulled straight out of a black and white film, soft light, timeless dress, that kind of unhurried elegance you can't manufacture even if you tried.

We stepped outside onto the church lawn for their first look, and the timing could not have been more perfect. Sun pouring in at just the right angle, warm and golden, wrapping around both of them the second Hans turned around. It's one of those moments where the light does half the emotional work for you, and I was more than happy to just stand back and let it happen.

The ceremony itself took place inside this genuinely gorgeous historic church, all rich woodwork and stained glass casting beautiful color across the room. Outside, the church sat surrounded by open fields under an enormous blue sky, a classic Minnesota countryside view.

After the ceremony, we took some time to explore the surrounding area, and honestly, the day just kept delivering. Fields rolling out in every direction, a stretch of forest, even a little bridge tucked into the landscape that felt like it belonged in a storybook. The weather cooperated fully, not a cloud interrupting what turned out to be about as perfect a day as you could ask for.

From there we headed to The Sapphire for the reception, where everyone gathered together for toasts that were warm, genuine, and full of the kind of love that comes from a room full of people who've watched this relationship grow. Samantha and Hans closed things out with a thank-you toast of their own, a fitting bookend to a day that started quiet and beautiful and ended exactly the same way.
