Elizabeth and Matthew
Wedding Date: October 1st 2022
If you’re lucky, love will make you feel like you’re on top of the world. In the case of Elizabeth and Matthew, they felt that way every day, but none more than on their wedding day as they literally looked out over the skyline of Saint Paul. These two sweethearts deserve nothing but the best and everyone showed up to give them the celebration of a lifetime!
I met the women in the beautifully decorated bridal suite at A’Bulae. After a few clinks of champagne glasses, Elizabeth put on the finishing touches and was ready to show her girls. We set up a dramatic reveal on the steps up to the rooftop where Matthew was waiting. I think he could probably hear the screams of delight echoing in the stairwell as they saw Elizabeth for the first time. Then it was the big moment. She wore a giant smile as she opened the door to reveal Matthew overlooking the city below. It seemed as if they were the only two people in the world as they embraced and laughed and talked. This was exactly where they were meant to be, in one another’s arms.
After a little exploring with the wedding party, we quickly made our way back to A’Bulae for a few final touches before the ceremony began. The sky was filled with beautiful moody clouds that made for the perfect lighting and backdrop (shout out to all my fellow photographer out there, you know what I mean!) As the music played, Elizabeth walked down the aisle toward a smiling Matthew waiting at the other end. The whole city was theirs as they exchanged vows perched above the rooftops. The cheering sound of the crowd carried in the breeze, delivering joyful celebrations to everyone in earshot. They danced down the aisle to applause and I like to think the rest of Saint Paul was applauding too.
While the guests filed downstairs, we took a few minutes on the rooftop to enjoy the moment. They laughed and twirled as the sun slowly started to set in the distance. Back inside, the party was in full swing and they were welcomed once more with cheering and applause. Heartfelt toasts were shared as everyone enjoyed a lovely meal. Then the lights from the dj filled the dance floor as they shared their first dance together and then with their parents. Elizabeth had requested some night photography, so when the dance party got going, we stepped outside for a few moments. We found a cozy alley where they could hear the faint sound of their own party. What a surreal and wonderful moment. I’m so happy I was able to join these two in their beautiful celebration, thank you again!
