When the groom asks you, “do you want your own 4-wheeler?” You know it’s going to be a very good day. I met Emily and Aaron at the family property in Brainerd on an ideal Minnesota fall day. His family had been preparing the grounds for a long time just for this event and it turned out absolutely perfect. This space became our little woodland sanctuary for the day which started out with a beautiful ceremony under a canopy of fall foliage. Guests were welcomed by a literal “family tree” and lots of warm hugs and smiles. Emily took everyone’s breath away as she walked down the grassy aisle. Aaron was speechless and she was glowing. After the ceremony, we ventured out into the woods to explore. I jumped on the back of a golf cart and to my excited (and slight terror) we whizzed through wooded paths as I surfed on the back seat and couldn’t stop laughing. The beautiful fall colors welcomed us as we discovered deer stands and toasted to the newlyweds. Emily decided the time was right to show off her garter and to Aaron’s utter surprise and amazement, she had been packing heat all day as it was filled with throwing stars in lieu of traditional silk and lace. We couldn’t stop laughing and the pair nearly fell over with joy. This is the perfect illustration of who they are. Sweet, funny, lighthearted, and sincere. My favorite kind of people. We met them at Unveiled, which is one of our favorite trade shows because it has introduced us to some of our very favorite people. Once the laughter settled, we were back on the golf cart and returned to the party. We were met with the smells of amazing BBQ and some lovely toasts. The sun made way to the stars as the tent lit up and the party really got started. Music from the talented DJ Harmony and laughter could be heard as the lights from the dance floor shone in the night. Thank you both for an incredible day, my face still hurts from smiling so hard!
