Jessica and Neil

Wedding Date: July 22nd 2023

These are the summer days that make you excited to get up and get out of the city. Lucky for our talented Team Photographer, Erin Johnson, she was set to meet Jessica and Neil up north in the best place possible on a day like today. It was hot and humid but the breeze off the lake was inviting and calming. She met the pair at a private family lake home where they were putting on the finishing touches. The families were buzzing around the home excited and waiting for their big first look moment by the lake. Greeted with smiles and open arms, Erin felt right at home.

The pair smiled and met each other on the lawn near the lake with family and friends watching from all around. They laughed and made their way onto the dock to enjoy the cool breeze and big blue sky. Boaters waved and gulls called from high above. Their wedding party joined them for some time in the wooded area nearby before everyone took the party to Grandview Lodge. The grand staircase was a welcomed sight as it would serve as their aisle very soon. In the meantime, they enjoyed time with friends and their two boys.

All the guests took their place as the ceremony began. They love all the children in their life so they walked down the aisle first and added some cute laughs to the ceremony. Then Jessica emerged on the grand stairs and when she made it to the bottom she cheered and raised her bouquet in triumph. The crowd laughed and whistled as she made her way to Neil. They exchanged their vows with the lake as a beautiful background and the blue sky and puffy white clouds lazily floating by overhead. They kissed and the crowd cheered once more for the newlyweds as they walked back down the aisle.

The guests moved inside as the wedding party went out to the docks for a few more photos. Then suddenly one of the puffy white clouds turned a bit angry and the sky opened up in a surprise downpour. Everyone ran for cover and laughed and screamed as giant raindrops hit the ground. But this laidback pair wasn’t bothered. They laughed and went right back outside the second it cleared. Neil even ended up bumping into a guy who was getting married the following weekend so they shared some laughs and advice. Then it was time to head back to the party. Everyone went to the reception but Erin convinced Jessica and Neil to enjoy the sunset for a few more minutes and it ended up being her favorite moment of the whole day. The pair took a deep breath and reflected on their beautiful day as the sun sank below the horizon coloring the sky yellow and orange.
