Jessica and Nick

Wedding Date: November 13th 2021

When I left the house the morning of Jessica and Nick’s wedding, I could feel something magical in the air. Then, quite literally, the sky opened up on my drive over and just like that we had our first big snowfall of the year. The big fluffy flakes were just starting to accumulate as I met with Jessica and her girls in the bridal suite. She quickly finished getting ready so her and Nick could have their first meeting in the falling snow and wow, did it pay off! I walked Nick out to the Beach Club balcony overlooking the now very white lake. The snow started falling harder and he laughed as it gathered on his eyelashes and Jessica made her way outside. They were laughing and smiling and twirling in the snow as it piled higher and higher. Their friends made their way outside for a few photos and to check out what all the fun was about. Instantly, everyone turned into big kids and started sticking their tongues out to catch snowflakes. It felt like we all entered a snowglobe and I even heard someone proclaim, “it’s like we’re in a Hallmark movie!” As the sun hid behind the clouds, the lights flickered on just as guests began to arrive. Everyone was overjoyed with this new winter wonderland that gave their day an extra magical atmosphere. Like many other couples, they had to postpone their big celebration, so they decided to exchange their vows in a small ceremony at home surrounded by friends and family. Now, instead of a ceremony, they paraded down the grand staircase and gave heartfelt toasts and told stories. After the clinking of glasses came to a close, the dance floor opened up and everyone joined in the fun. We ended the evening just as it began, out on the balcony with the falling snow all around us.
