Joan and Tom
Wedding Date: December 29th 2022
Being able to capture a family as they grow and change through the years is such a beautiful and profound thing that always honors me to the core. After capturing Lindsay and Dustin’s wedding back in 2016, I kept up with the whole family and enjoyed hearing where life had taken them. Then when I got the call from Dustin’s dad, Tom, that he wanted me to capture his own wedding, I knew this would be an extra special reunion.
In lieu of a New Year's Eve party, they chose to host a gorgeous and elegant wedding on a Thursday night during the holiday season. It fit perfectly between post-Christmas celebrations and NYE, so nearly everyone could attend and keep the holiday joy going strong. I was so happy to reconnect with Lindsay and Dustin and hear what it was like for Tom to go from father of the groom to being the groom himself. For Dustin, it was an honor to watch his father get married and share in his joy.
I met the pair at the iconic Basilica of St. Mary where I could smell the fresh evergreens from the moment I walked through the doors. It was decorated beautifully and simply, letting the pair shine as they met at the end of the aisle. As I watched them exchange vows and enjoy the service, I couldn’t help but see the light that they have found in one another. They are both such lovely and generous people and this was the moment where both of their bright lights became one.
We were all excited to get the party started at the stunning new Four Seasons Hotel. It was one of their first weddings in the new space and I for one couldn’t wait to explore! The elegant decor matched Joan and Tom perfectly as they seemed to fit into every space seamlessly. Like something out of a movie, the pair floated from one lavish corner of the hotel to another. The attention to detail and warm welcoming atmosphere truly matched everything you expect from the Four Seasons name. After sweet and very intentional toasts, the pair took to the dance floor where laughter filled the air followed by thunderous applause. They danced with their loved ones until the entire floor was filled with guests and the room seemed to overflow with joy. Thank you both for making my holiday season even brighter!
