Kathleen and Chris
Wedding Date: September 24th 2022
Kathleen and Chris’ wedding was one of those pinch-me moments. With bagpipers escorting them down the aisle of the historic Assumption Church after their first kiss, it felt like a scene right out of a movie. But with these two loving souls coming together, there was bound to be magic in the air.
Planning a wedding from afar always has its challenges, but Kathleen and Chris made it look effortless. Living in Chicago, they wanted a St. Paul wedding to be closer to family and they couldn’t have picked a better destination. When I met them at the beautiful St. Paul Hotel the morning of their wedding, I was struck by how classic and elegant the day already felt in this ideal setting. Their little niece watched Kathleen dawn her finishing touches, in awe of her amazing aunt transforming into a princess before her very eyes. Then it was the moment they were waiting for, their first look. The doors swung open revealing Chris waiting for his beloved. They could barely contain their excitement and threw their arms around one another, both wearing huge smiles and happy tears.
Before making our way to Assumption Church, we strolled the cobblestone streets of St. Paul, meeting up with their loved ones along the way. The church was filled with loving guests all excitedly awaiting Kathleen to make her entrance. Smiles were seen on every face as she danced through the doors ready to say “I do.” After the most grand first kiss I’ve ever witnessed, everyone followed the bagpipers outside onto the staircase for another show stopping moment. Cars slowed and honked in celebration as they passed the church, all in awe of the love pouring out of the doors.
They have a large friend group and you can see why. Kathleen and Chris have surrounded themselves with some amazing people who feel more like a family. They traveled back to the St. Paul Hotel where they enjoyed their signature espresso martini cocktail and their friends toasted to the newlyweds. Then the party started and let me tell you, this is where everyone wanted to be that evening. They took to the dance floor twirling and laughing as camera flashes blinked in the crowd. Then after a few sweet toasts and dinner, the dance floor was flooded with people showing off their best moves. The energy could be felt throughout the venue and no one stayed in their seat for long! It’s days like these that make me think we should all have a team of bagpipers follow us around and show off our dance moves whenever the right song fills the air. Thanks for living life to the fullest and inspiring others to do the same.
