Wedding Date: September 17th 2021

Anytime you get to photograph a wedding at one of the most iconic mansions in Minneapolis, you know it’s going to be a great day. I joined Katie in the beautiful bridal suite along with her very excited friends and family. Her dress was highly anticipated so you better believe the reveal was met with screams and cheers. It made for a pretty cute moment when all of her bridesmaids were all trying to peek through the door to see her at the same time. Their friends really are a testament to who they are. They surround themselves with amazing people and then return the love twofold. In fact, they spread the love to my family as well! We ended up playing matchmaker with our parents down in Florida. But that’s just the kind of people Katie and Billy are, always trying to make everyone around them feel good and important. Billy was a bundle of excitement and nerves as we walked the grounds in preparation for their first look. But the second Katie’s footsteps were heard on the sidewalk, a huge smile swept over his face and didn’t leave for the rest of the day. The Van Dusen Mansion is one of my favorite places for an outdoor ceremony with it’s quaint courtyard, it feels like the entire world is focused on only the two lovebirds. Standing next to Billy as the best man was his father. Whenever I see a parent in the bridal party, you know something has gone incredibly right and I hope I can be there standing up for my boys someday. After a touching ceremony and some great chats during the cocktail hour, heartfelt toasts were met with laughter and even a few happy tears over dinner. The dance floor beckoned and Katie and Billy were ready and waiting. They twirled and spun around in the colorful lights as their loved ones watched on. Then, to end the night, everyone lined up outside for a grand sparkler send off. There’s no better way to end the evening than holding a glass of champagne in one hand and a glowing sparkler in the other. Thank you both for showing us all such a lovely time!
