Wedding Date: August 12th 2023

Whenever I see Nicolle Sellers name show up on a couple’s first meeting notes I know this is going to be an amazing wedding and a lovely couple. Katie and Joey definitely did not disappoint and we clicked right from the very start. They are both incredibly sweet and grateful and absolutely head-over-heels in love.

When I pulled up to Katie’s family home I was surprised to be greeted by a private valet but then again, I knew today was going to be flawless with every detail thought out. The landscaping was perfect, like something out of a magazine, and the warm sunny day made it all that much more beautiful. Friends and family were buzzing around the home filled with excitement and pointed me in Katie’s direction. She showed off her stunning gown while her family beamed ear to ear. She wanted to have some time with each of her family members before starting the day, so we planned in some intentional family moments that were filled with so much joy and love you could feel it radiating from all of them.

Then it was time to make her way out to the garden where Joey was waiting. They both smiled wide as he heard her footsteps cross the lawn. When they met they surprised even themselves with how emotional they became. It was a beautiful moment of genuine love and happiness that will stick with me, in fact, I think it was my favorite part of their entire day and what I see when someone mentions their names. They shared their vows with one another in the shade of an old tree that would soon be filled with loved ones during their ceremony. After drying our eyes (yes, they got me too!) we decided to embrace the beautiful weather and roam through the tall grasses with the big blue sky overhead.

After some fun time with their friends, everyone collected themselves and prepared for the ceremony as guests began to take their seats. Katie’s dad proudly walked his daughter from the house, across the lawn, and through the aisle of happy friends and family with Katie beaming the entire way. Joey’s smile matched hers and when they held hands at the end once again under the shade of the tree, they felt complete. Their sweet ceremony was met with happy tears and lots of laughter. Then they laughed and cheered all the way down the aisle and back to the house to celebrate.

Wayzata Country Club is very special to their family so the entire wedding made their way to the club and were greeted with a stunning reception full of charm and impeccable details. While the guests were getting cozy, I whisked the couple away to take in the incredible light that was peeking through the trees as the sun began to set. They welcomed and thanked their guests who had traveled near and far to join them for this special day and laughed and shared toasts and stories. When the dancefloor opened you could feel the energy in the room pick up and sure enough it filled as soon as the first dance and parents dances were finished. Katie surprised everyone with an incredible wardrobe change and their friends showed off their dance moves in celebration. The music set the perfect vibe for a memorable summer night with all their favorite people.
