Wedding Date: June 3rd 2022

I met Liz and Mark a few years ago at his brother's wedding. Caitlin and Alec’s day was beautiful and Mark was a charming guest who brought along his new girlfriend. I ended up snapping a photo of the two of them that became one of their very first photos together. I suppose you can consider this the beginning of our photography journey together! Fast forward to last year when they were planning a wedding of their own and called me to coordinate calendars before they settled on a wedding date. This is always the biggest honor a couple can give, so I couldn’t wait for their moment in the spotlight.

They decided on The University of MN Landscape Arboretum for their ceremony and first look. It can be a very busy place, especially during prime wedding season. But like so many other things on this day, everything seemed to fall into place perfectly for Liz and Mark. They were the only wedding of the day and all of the staff were excited to help and be part of THE wedding. Everyone involved felt like guests of honor and a big blue Minnesota sky welcomed everyone to their outdoor ceremony in this beautiful garden. A gentle breeze rustled through the trees and everyone kept saying they couldn’t have designed a better day if they tried.

After the beautiful ceremony, Liz, Mark, and I all made our way to the lake. The breeze grew into a light wind which was perfect for sailing and meant the lake was full of big white sails and happy families cruising around on the boats. We watched from the docks while they breathed deep and took it all in. I think we could have stayed there enjoying the sights all day, but their guests were awaiting their grand arrival at the beautiful Hotel Landing. Excellent food, joyous dancing, and heartfelt toasts awaited these two lovebirds. I don’t think a smile left their faces all evening and the love could be felt by everyone in the room.
