Marissa and Robert Engagement

Marissa is a TV producer and brings creative LA/NY energy to the midwest in the best possible way. She helped create the vision for the session and wanted to show off the beauty of the lakes in the Minnetonka area that they call home. She expressed that she was worried Robert wouldn’t have fun during the session and it would be more “her thing.” I made it my mission to make sure they both had an amazing day and it turns out I didn’t even need to work very hard on that part!

They showed up ready and excited with a bottle of wine and their dog. We found the perfect spot along the shore for a toast and to cuddle up with their pup. Marissa was full of smiles and energy and Robert matched her excitement and joy every step of the way. They cheerfully toasted to their future wedding and twirled and laughed along the water's edge. They were a complete joy to photograph and their love and happiness really shone through the entire session. It was a beautiful, warm summer day and in my opinion, they chose the perfect attire. When people ask what to wear, I always say, “what would you wear for an afternoon on the boat? Would you be in a full suit or something more casual?” They perfected the idea of summer in Minnesota as we cruised the boardwalk in the historic town center of Wayzata. At the end of their session, they were both buzzing about how much fun they had and couldn’t wait to continue their date night. A perfect end to a perfect session on the lake!
