Parmpreet and Prince

Wedding Date: August 8-6th 2022

3 days, 5 dresses, and 3 years in the making, Parmpreet and Prince’s amazing wedding celebration was one of the most memorable and grand events I’ve ever been a part of. Rochester holds a very special place in their hearts, so in 2019 they began planning the event of a lifetime in the small Minnesota town. They knew the food had to be delicious, the events colorful and engaging, and the decor on point. They also wanted to show their new home to friends and family, so they flew me out to New York for a stunning engagement session in Central Park. As incredible as that day was, it was only the beginning!

The first day of celebrations was a very special one, because not only was it the mehndi and haldi ceremonies, but it was also Parmpreet’s birthday! I met the ladies at a special location where beautiful henna art was already in full swing. Parm sat and admired all of her loved ones as they laughed together while the henna artist finished each masterpiece. Before the haldi ceremony began, birthday gifts were given and Parm showed off her henna art to Prince who was excitedly waiting for his love. Both changed into their haldi attire, but not before Parm showed me a sneak peak of all her dresses to come! The ceremony was so sweet, colorful, and pretty hilarious. Loved ones greeted the couple by smearing turmeric across their arms and face with the wildest guests going last. Everyone was howling with laughter and Parm and Prince were completely overjoyed wearing smiles that lasted all weekend.

Next beautiful event and another gorgeous dress. This time adorned in pink and peach tones, guests joined the couple at The Hilton in Rochester to sing and dance in the lavishly decorated ballroom. Each guest waited patiently for their turn to greet the couple and get their photo together and then the real party began. Dance after dance and one hit song after another played as guests, loved ones, and even the couple took their place on the brightly colored custom dance floor. With a view of downtown Rochester, the party continued on into the night and everyone in town knew this was certainly the place to be!

The next day was the biggest celebration of them all so we started early. I joined Parm while she was putting on the finishing touches with the help of her family. She wore a beautiful red dress and the henna on her hands from the mehndi ceremony was flawless. Prince got ready in another room and then made his way downstairs where their loved ones and guests were waiting. He sat atop a beautiful white horse and was accompanied by a small foal as everyone danced and sang alongside. The parade made its way to the front entrance of The Hilton where Parmpreet was waiting with a big smile. I went up to the rooftop with the couple to take in the amazing view of downtown. We took in a few quiet moments before the part moved upstairs and in this moment I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by the amazing hospitality and love I was shown by everyone here today. From the couple, to their family and friends, and the vendors, I felt like this was not only the party of the summer, but it was the party everyone wanted to attend because it was just so incredibly warm and welcoming.

They seemed to float on a cloud above the city the whole of their ceremony. Everyone was in awe and couldn't help but snap a few photos to prove they were there. There was an extra sparkle to this event as their families joined them side by side. Happily the threat of rain held off until the outdoor ceremony was finished and I was able to whisk the couple away for some alone time to take in the grandeur of the day. They twirled through the streets of Rochester and they were walking on air as we visited a nearby park. Then when the sky clouded over and we got in the car to return to the venue, they had one special request; Taco Bell. That’s all they had been wanting all weekend so who was I to say no to this special duo?! We stopped at the drive through and they happily snacked and laughed the entire drive back.

After one final outfit change, the formal evening event was about to begin. The scent of delicious food filled the air as the glamorous pair took to the dance floor. Pyrotechnics shot off as Prince dipped Parm after their final twirl and the crowd exploded into cheers. Toast after toast and dance after lively dance, the evening was a kaleidoscope of laughter and fun all set to a wonderful soundtrack and a sparkly elegant backdrop. I don’t think Rochester will forget this weekend for many years to come, and neither will I. Thank you Parmpreet and Prince for bringing a taste of India to Rochester and for all of your kind and generous hospitality.
