Patricia and Evan

Wedding Date: September 27th 2025

Patricia and Evan’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of classic elegance, meaningful tradition, and one of the most incredible golden hours I’ve seen all season. While I wasn’t the one behind the camera that day, our amazing Team Photographer Tasha captured every moment with such care and artistry. Looking through the images afterward, it was clear how special the entire day felt from beginning to end.

Their story began years earlier at Iowa State University. Patricia had just arrived in the United States and was still settling into life in a new country. Evan had noticed her walking across campus throughout the week, but it took a small stroke of luck to finally bring them together. One day he found a five-leaf clover and decided that was the sign he needed to introduce himself. That simple moment turned into a conversation, and that conversation became the beginning of their story.

On their wedding day, Patricia wore traditional henna adorning her hands and arms. The intricate designs were stunning. Shortly after getting ready they shared their first look just outside Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Seeing each other before the ceremony allowed them to take a breath together and share a few quiet smiles before the day truly began. Then the wedding party joined them for photos before everyone made their way inside the church.

Their ceremony was a traditional service filled with warmth. After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a special family tradition. The couple received a blessing and shared milk and banana together on a ceremonial plate, an Indian custom symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for their marriage. It was a beautiful moment that honored Patricia’s heritage and added another meaningful layer to the day.

As everyone made their way to Brackett’s Crossing for the reception, the sky opened into what felt like an extended golden hour. The warm evening sun stretched across the golf course, creating that soft glowing light photographers dream about. Tasha took full advantage of the moment, capturing portraits of Patricia and Evan outdoors while the landscape seemed to glow around them.

Inside the reception, the atmosphere shifted into celebration. Guests gathered for dinner as heartfelt toasts filled the room with laughter and love. Later in the evening, Patricia and Evan shared their first dance, a romantic moment that brought the room together once again. As the celebration continued, they stepped outside for a quiet stroll across the golf course, the soft evening light still lingering in the sky.
