San Francisco Engagement

I love capturing my friends' love stories and it’s even better when I get to sneak in a bit of travel too. Johan and Grace have been good friends for a long time, so when they called and asked me to take their engagement photos I was all in. Then they asked if I could meet them on the west coast at their home. It was a quick “yes” and then we sorted through our calendars to find a time that would work well for everyone. We ended up deciding on an April session date and let me tell you, there’s nothing better than Northern California in the springtime. The flowers were in bloom, the weather was warm, and I was able to escape the snowy Minnesota landscape for a little while to take in the sun and ocean views. They showed me around their neighborhood and we stopped at all their favorite places along the way. From giant old growth trees, to a beautiful city park, and then finally back to their home for a glass of wine. Seeing friends, visiting a lovely city, and creating art, I can’t think of a better way to spend the weekend.
