Ashley and Brian
Wedding Date: April 1st 2023
Whenever a couple decides to host their wedding at their home or a family home, you know you’re being welcomed into a very special and personal moment in their lives. This was absolutely the case for Ashley and Brian. In preparation for their big day, they cleared the living room where the big picture windows framed a perfect view of the wintery scene outside. We had just received a fair amount of snow and this April 1st wedding was looking a bit like winter, but this was no April Fools, because the warmth from their joy could have melted all of the snow in Minnesota.
Our incredible Team Photographer, Erin Johnson, met Ashley and Brian just as the family home was starting to come alive with excitement. Sweet moments with grandma were shared and then they were both off to put on their wedding best. Before their first look, they decided to each meet with their families first. They all share sweet and tearful moments together as they sent their son and daughter off to get married in that very spot in only a few hours. Brian waited at the window, gazing out over the snow covered trees as Ashley peered her head through the door to catch a glimpse of her groom. They threw their arms around each other and a few more tears flowed down their cheeks which were already pink from the laughter and tears they shared earlier.
After braving the outdoors for a few photos (we are Minnesotan, afterall), the guests started to arrive and fill the chairs that had been set up in the living room. No one could take their eyes off the couple as they exchanged sweet vows that they wrote for one another. The short ceremony ended with applause and lots of hugs and laughter. Everyone had been busy getting the festivities ready so by the time the ceremony was finished, the cake and spread for dinner were ready and waiting. Erin enjoyed watching them cut their cake and have their first celebratory toast as a married couple. What a beautiful way to spend the day!
