Shannon and Jake

Wedding Date: July 15th 2023

The sun was shining bright in the blue sky with a gentle breeze cooling the warm summer air. If you were to dream up a summer wedding, I feel that this would be what you imagined. Our talented Team Photographer, Erin, joined Shannon and Jake that morning in Edina to enjoy a day they have been dreaming of for a long time. She met them at St. Stephen’s Episcopal church where they were putting on their finishing touches. The bridal suite was filled with happy faces as Shannon showed off her gorgeous dress details. In another room, Jake tied his bowtie and made his way outside to meet his love, Shannon.

On her way to their first look, Shannon surprised her father with a first look of his own. He beamed with fatherly pride and gave her a huge hug before sending her on her way to go meet Jake. They embraced and laughed, both excited for the events of the day. Erin explored the beautiful church grounds which held so much meaning to Shannon’s family as they have been members of that very church for decades. Then they met up with their wedding party who brought the laughter and ensured everyone that this was going to be a day to remember. I think they could have joked around together all day but before they knew it the guests began to arrive so everyone took their places and waited for the ceremony to begin.

Shannon looked gorgeous as she walked down the aisle toward Jake who was standing proudly at the front of the church. You could almost feel the family history and all the other love stories shared within those walls as they too exchanged their vows. Everyone cheered as they kissed and walked down the aisle toward their future together. Instead of heading right to the reception, the wedding party boarded a party bus and took the scenic route. Everyone sang along at the top of their lungs and knew every word to every song. Erin felt like she was part of a mini karaoke party in the best possible way. They stopped at a gorgeous overlook and everyone stepped out for some fresh air and to take in the scenery. Shannons dress blew in the wind as Jake lovingly looked on.

They arrived at Bearpath Country Club just as the sun was setting which cast a beautiful golden glow over the course. The party was underway inside while Shannon, Jake, and Erin enjoyed the last bit of light. It was a beautiful quiet moment where they were able to take in all the memories they had made that day. They breathed deep and smiled before making their way back inside. The crowd jumped to their feet and cheered as they walked to the head table and you could feel the joy overflowing from the beautiful space. After a few sweet toasts that had everyone laughing, they shared their first dance and parent dances. Then their loved ones grabbed sparklers and everyone ran outside to send the happy couple off in style!
