Stowe Vermont Adventures
Vermont has become a special place for the Vicks. Ever since last July when Janelle and I got back from an incredible wedding at Edson Hill, there has been a place in our hearts for Stowe, Vermont. I wanted to share some of my adventures there and can’t wait to continue to share more in the future. Keep an eye out for more from this hot spot!
Stowe is a quaint ski town nestled among farms in the Green Mountains that looks like it came straight out Austria or Sweden. In fact, it is famous for the Von Trapp family settling here after the war and who now run a lodge and a brewery. In the summer, it is an outdoor enthusiasts dream with bike paths and trout streams that stretch for miles. Wood covered bridges protect these waters and lead you to some of the best breweries in all the East coast along with crisp ciders from the local orchards.
I had the pleasure of visiting again during the winter, which gave it a whole new life. When the snow flies, the town of Stowe transforms into a lively international ski town. Sledding and cross country skiing are some of the most popular activities along with horse riding, live music, and enjoying the cozy lodges. What drew us back this time around was the warmth and hospitality of our new friends at Edson Hill. These people are ‘our people’ and we count down the days until we get to return! Whether it’s a wedding, event, photographing the fall colors, or just enjoying myself on a challenging snowy ridge, I can’t wait to go back soon!
