Teagan and Natalie

Wedding Date: September 6th 2025

Some weddings follow a familiar rhythm. Teagan and Natalie’s celebration rewrote the playbook entirely. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this wasn’t going to be an ordinary wedding day. Every detail felt intentional, creative, and completely true to who they are. It was stylish, a little quirky, deeply joyful, and without question one of the coolest celebrations I’ve photographed in my 20+ years behind the camera.

The day began at The Bakken Museum, which might be one of the most interesting venues in Minneapolis. Natalie got ready in a vintage bathroom that felt like its own little secret world. A ceramic claw-foot tub sat in the corner surrounded by lush plants, soft light, and old tile that gave the space this incredible jungle-like calm. It was the perfect backdrop for such a unique bridal look. Natalie wore a stunning corset gown with vintage lace and dramatic puffed sleeves that felt both modern and timeless at once. Teagan matched the vibe perfectly with a bolo tie and a gold brooch that gave his look just the right amount of personality.

The two shared a private first look outside beneath a cloudy sky. Shortly after, their wedding party joined us and the energy immediately shifted into celebration mode. These friends clearly adore them, and the laughter never stopped. And then the rain came. But instead of running for cover, everyone embraced it. Friends danced in the rain, laughter echoed across the grounds, and it somehow made the entire day feel even more alive.

The Bakken itself set the tone for the entire ceremony. The building carries this beautiful vintage charm that feels somewhere between the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts movements, with warm wood tones and thoughtful architectural details around every corner. As guests gathered inside the cozy wood-lined hall, the ceremony took place in front of a massive stone fireplace that made the whole space feel intimate and welcoming. It was a ceremony that perfectly reflected Teagan and Natalie. Sweet, a little quirky, and filled with personality. When they were finally pronounced married, they didn’t simply walk down the aisle. They danced down it while their guests cheered them on.

After the ceremony, we slipped outside to explore the museum grounds. The gardens and paths around The Bakken are incredible, and with the soft storm light hanging in the sky, the whole place felt cinematic. Then it was time to head to Icehouse for the reception, where things somehow became even more unforgettable.

In all my years photographing weddings, I can honestly say I’ve never seen an entrance quite like this one. As Teagan and Natalie arrived, they were greeted by giant puppets while the entire crowd sang and danced. The couple ran straight onto the dance floor and then onto the stage like they were headlining the best concert in town. And honestly, that’s exactly what the night felt like. The band was electric, the room was packed, and when Teagan grabbed his violin and joined the music on stage the crowd absolutely lost it. It was the kind of moment that makes everyone look at each other like, “Are we really at a wedding right now?”

Throughout the night there were beautiful little moments mixed into the celebration. Natalie shared sweet time with her mom, and one particularly special moment belonged to her grandparents, who finally shared their very first first dance after more than 60 years of marriage. They never had one on their wedding day, and seeing them out on the floor together was something no one in the room will forget.

The party kept rolling with champagne toasts, cigars outside, friends laughing together between songs, and one of the most memorable cake cuttings I’ve ever witnessed. Teagan and Natalie cut their cake with a dagger, which somehow felt perfectly on brand for the entire night. Their first dance and the parent dances that followed were playful, joyful, and completely full of life. And from that point on the dance floor never slowed down. This was the kind of wedding where you looked around the room and knew everyone there felt lucky to be part of it.

Teagan and Natalie, thank you for inviting me into such an unforgettable day. Your wedding was creative, joyful, a little wild in the best way, and completely authentic to who you are. It truly felt like the party everyone hopes to be invited to, and I’m still smiling thinking about it.
