One of my favorite parts of leading Vick Photography is getting to celebrate couples through the eyes of our incredible team. And for Gretta and Drew’s Grand View Lodge wedding, that honor belonged to Tasha, our wildly talented Team Photographer whose work has such heart, soul, and presence. She captures a wedding day the way it feels, and this one felt joyful from the very first frame.

Grand View Lodge has this way of making everything feel like summer magic with the tall pines, the open sky, the calm lake in the background. It’s the kind of place that invites you to breathe a little deeper and take it all in. And that’s exactly how Gretta and Drew’s day unfolded.

Tasha began in the bridal suite, where the energy was already buzzing. Gretta’s bridesmaids circled up for the big dress reveal, and the moment she stepped out, the room erupted with gasps, hands over hearts, happy squeals, all of it. Meanwhile, the guys were sharing a celebratory toast to kick things off.

Gretta and Drew’s first look happened just outside their suites, tucked under towering green trees with blue sky sweeping overhead. It was sweet and had that unmistakable mix of nerves, excitement, and “this is really happening.” After that, Tasha took them on a walk through the Grand View grounds, soaking in the sun-washed scenery. And then came the real star of the show: their beloved pup, who happily bounded into photos like she had been waiting for her cue the entire time.

The wedding party joined in next, and what a group, they were full of energy and personality. The bridesmaids wore different shades and styles of pink, each one choosing something that reflected who they are. The guys contrasted with sharp black bowties, tying the whole aesthetic together effortlessly.

Soon it was time to begin. Their ceremony took place outdoors, down the grand staircase that Grand View is known for. Guests watched as Gretta walked arm-in-arm with her dad, both of them smiling wide. Bright, colorful florals framed the space beautifully. When they were pronounced husband and wife, the joy was unmistakable.

After a celebratory walk back toward the reception hall under that perfect blue sky, the evening flowed into dinner, heartfelt toasts, and a sweet first dance. Parent dances followed that were the kind that have everyone wiping their eyes, whether they admit it or not.

Gretta and Drew’s story began at NDSU seven years ago. They’ve lived all over the country together and eventually made their way back to Minnesota which they want to make their forever home. There’s something powerful about rooting your wedding day in a place that reflects the journey you’ve taken and the future you’re building. Watching Tasha tell that story through her lens was a gift.

Gretta and Drew, thank you for trusting our team to preserve this incredible day. Your joy is the kind that radiates and makes everyone around you feel lucky to witness it. And we were.
