Jes and Josh
Wedding Date: August 23rd 2025
Some weddings feel like stepping into a love story. Others feel like stepping directly into the heart of a family. Jes and Josh’s day at the Skyroom in Red Wing was absolutely the latter and it was the sweetest blend of joy, chaos, inside jokes, and more laughter-through-happy-tears than I’ve seen at a wedding in a long time.
Ali, one of our extraordinary Team Photographers, photographed their wedding, and she captured the day with such tenderness and intuition. Ali has this gift for photographing families in a way that feels like she’s catching the love in motion and with this crew, there was a lot of motion.
Jes and Josh are the cutest couple, and together with their kids, they make the cutest family. Truly. From the moment Ali arrived, the energy was pure joy. After a few final touches, Jes and Josh shared their first look out on the porch. It was all laughter, big smiles, and that unmistakable “these are my people” kind of warmth. You can see how much they love each other in every frame.
Their kids were their wedding party, and the closeness between them is so real and so sweet. They had everyone giggling during photos and completely stole the show in the best possible way. Their inside family joke is “can’t we just have a normal family dinner?!” And based on the stories, it sounds like “normal” is not happening anytime soon. And thank goodness, because the joy they share is what made this day so magical.
The ceremony took place outdoors overlooking lush green trees and rolling hills in that classic Red Wing beauty. Their kids stood right beside them as they exchanged vows and did readings. It didn’t feel like a formal ceremony but more like a big family group hug. So many squeezes, so many tears, so much happiness.
Afterward, Ali took Jes and Josh on a golden-hour stroll, and the light was unreal. That perfect soft, glowy, honey-colored light that wraps around you and makes everything look cinematic. They wandered through the tall grasses and along the hillside, soaking in a few quiet moments together. The sun dipped low and set the whole scene on fire and it was the kind of light photographers dream about. Ali absolutely crushed it.
Back at the Skyroom, the reception tables looked gorgeous and were filled with all the people who adore them. And the theme of the evening became obvious very quickly: laugh until you cry, then cry more until you laugh again. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many genuinely joyful reactions all in one place.
Every moment, from the toasts to the parent dances to the first dance as husband and wife, was filled with warmth, humor, and gratitude. It was a celebration of love, yes, but more importantly, a celebration of family.
Jes and Josh, thank you for letting us be a part of such a heartfelt, hilarious, joy-filled day. Your family is a treasure, and photographing your love was an honor.
