JoDee and Matt
Wedding Date: November 22nd 2025
I have to admit some bias walking into this one. I photographed JoDee's sister's wedding last year and ended up becoming genuinely close with the whole family, so when this day rolled around, it felt less like a job and more like a family reunion I happened to be invited to with a camera.
Matt showed up looking sharp in a white suit and a polka dot bow tie, easily one of my favorite groom looks I've shot in a while. JoDee matched that energy completely in a stunning modern lace gown. Together they're just the picture of style, effortless and totally cool.
The dress reveal happened with all four of her sons in the room, and I will be honest, most of the tears in that moment were mine. These are grown kids, adults really, and their reactions were somehow both tough and completely unguarded at the same time. Watching them see their mom like that, it got me. I'm not too proud to admit it.
The first look took place in the atrium, and Matt cried the second he turned around. Instantly. No hesitation, no holding it together, just pure emotion right out of the gate. We spent the next stretch wandering the venue together, catching moments in every corner of the space, and it was clear from every interaction that family sat at the absolute center of this day. JoDee's sister was a bridesmaid, which meant I got to spend the day photographing a friend getting to celebrate her sister right back. Full circle moment, and I loved every second of it.
The ceremony itself was modern and stylish, set up in the round so they were surrounded on every side by the people who love them. Big laughter, big smiles, genuinely one of the most joyous ceremonies I've shot in a long time. Afterward we took a short walk through the neighborhood, and I mean this literally, they were clicking their heels together they were so happy. I couldn't have asked for a better visual to sum up how the day felt.
The reception space was elegant down to the last detail, white flowers everywhere paired with disco balls overhead, an unexpected combination that somehow worked perfectly. They walked in and went straight into their first dance, fun and playful before settling into something sweeter. Toasts from family followed, warm and loving, and once the dancing officially opened up, everyone piled onto the floor and stayed there.
Thank you both for welcoming me into your family once more, I had the time of my life.
