Nancy and Alan

Wedding Date: June 28th 2024

Nancy and Alan are two of the most thoughtful people on planet Earth and their wedding was a beautiful reflection of that. I knew this from the first time I met them, but you really know a couple is special when someone's niece gets picked as the maid of honor. Family is central to them and their love story so I knew their wedding day would be a heartfelt and joyous occasion that I couldn’t wait to be part of.

The night before the wedding, everyone gathered at 6 Smith for their rehearsal dinner. The sticky ribs there are one of my favorite things of all time and I may have gone home with a little sauce on my camera. Totally worth it! The evening was filled with laughter and mingling, giving everyone a chance to get to know each other before the wedding day. It was a perfect way to start the weekend and set the stage for the next day.

Tasha, our amazing Team Photographer, joined me for their wedding day and we met the pair at the always gorgeous Bearpath Country Club. The sun played hide and seek all day but we resolved that it added a bit of special mystique to the day. When they finished getting ready they decided to skip a traditional first look and instead opted for a “first touch.” Alan stood with his back to a pillar of the pergola while Nancy, with her eyes closed, reached out and grabbed his hand. It was exactly what they needed before the ceremony. We connected with their wedding party after that sweet moment for a few more laughs before heading back inside to get ready before guests arrived.

When Nancy walked down the aisle, the sun came out just for them. Alan wiped away tears as he saw her walk toward him for the first time that day. They couldn’t stop smiling at each other and the entire crowd was crying happy tears. I may have shed a few right along with them. Right after the ceremony, they did a table dash to talk with all their guests. I love when couples make time for their guests like this as it makes everyone feel very special.

Tasha and I took a quick sunset stroll with them to visit some of our favorite spots around the Bearpath property. We ended up having the perfect light and colorful sky so it seemed Mother Nature was on their side today. After a delicious dinner, everyone hit the dance floor. It was a fun evening filled with tons of laughter and some excellent dance moves. At the end of the night Nancy came down in her pajamas and slippers to close out the party. When I got back in my car I couldn’t stop smiling thinking about their day and I find myself wearing a big smile as I write this once again. Wishing you both all the happiness in the world!
