Weddings come in all shapes and sizes, but lately I’ve found that some of the smallest weddings pack the biggest emotional impact. Sonia and Bob's celebration was one of those unforgettable days that perfectly blended emotion, intimacy, and beauty. I feel incredibly honored to have been part of their special day, which took place at their breathtaking house nestled by the lake and which was designed by a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright. From the moment Sonia and Bob reached out to me, I could sense their genuine warmth and excitement. They even moved their wedding date to ensure I could be there! It wasn't just about capturing photos for them, it was about sharing this special day with someone they felt a connection with. This heartfelt approach set the tone for their entire celebration.

Arriving at the lake house, I was immediately struck by its architectural beauty and serene surroundings. Sonia had insisted I see the house before the wedding, and she had arranged a charcuterie board and a glass of wine for us to enjoy during their engagement shoot on the property. Stepping back into the house filled me with warmth and I was immediately greeted by their loved ones. The pair finished getting ready while their guests took their seats in the living room.

The ceremony itself was a deeply personal affair, held in the cozy living room. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Sonia and Bob exchanged vows. Sonia’s son shared some beautiful words, and Bob’s daughter read a poem she had written. Bob’s son played a piano piece he had picked out just for them and his sister serenaded them with a gorgeous rendition of “At Last.” They say the people who love you say more about you than you ever could, so this showering of love shows just how sweet and wonderful Bob and Sonia are. After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a boat ride around the lake, courtesy of Alma’s boat company. Despite the threat of rain, the weather held off, and the sky cleared just in time for a magical evening on the water. The peacefulness of the lake and the joy of the newlyweds created the perfect moment for celebration.

As night fell, Sonia and Bob's guests gathered for a sparkler send-off, an early nod to the upcoming 4th of July festivities. The flickering lights of the sparklers mirrored the warmth and joy that had been present throughout the day, creating a festive and celebratory atmosphere to conclude a truly special wedding. Sonia and Bob's wedding was a beautiful reminder of what it means to be intentional in love and in life. Their day was not just about the grand gestures, but about the small, meaningful moments that made their celebration uniquely theirs.
