Nikki and Tyler
Wedding Date: May 7th 2022
I met Nikki and Tyler back in 2019 when they started planning for their 2020 wedding. Fast forward 3 years and they’re finally getting to celebrate with their friends and family the way they always dreamed! I couldn’t have been more honored that they stuck with us through the years and invited me to photograph their wedding after plans had changed. They weren’t sure they would ever have a big wedding, so instead, they got married at the courthouse and started their lives together. They welcomed their adorable son into the world and family was the focus of their world. They wanted to do something special to bring everyone together after such a long time apart, so they decided the celebration was back on…this time with one extra special guest of honor.
They met when she was working at Chipotle and he would come in and order wild off-menu items just to make her smile. Before long, they both knew one anothers orders like the back of their hand after and she would wait for him to come bounding in each day. They were the perfect match from the very beginning and the seasons even seemed to smile upon their union. A few days before their wedding, the tree just outside the venue exploded with bright pink flowers and it felt like spring was beginning just for them. My favorite part of the day was watching their son observe his parents and these funny adult traditions. He seemed to be in awe and they were so happy he could be part of their day they said they couldn’t imagine it any other way!
The reception was one like none other and I was even handed a tissue by a guest at one point because I couldn’t see through my camera lens. This evening was filled with big emotions, the most prevalent of course, love. Her father’s best friend gave a special wedding toast on behalf of his dear friend and surprised Nikki with her dad's dog tags. He had found them in a box and saved them especially for this moment. She immediately put them around her neck and her father was right there next to her heart. Then Tyler jumped on a table and serenaded his bride who was all smiles. The room was absolutely bursting with love at this point and I thought it couldn’t get any more memorable but then Tyler’s dad stepped in and asked Nikki for a father/daughter dance. I was a mess and their son gave me a reassuring thumbs up. Thanks buddy! May your little family be blessed forever with the same love that was shown on this day. It was one I will truly never forget.
