Sarah and Alex
Wedding Date: February 10th 2023
I love a cozy winter wedding and I think Sarah and Alex may have planned the coziest one yet! I met this sweet couple at the Unveiled event and we hit it off right from the very start. They decided they wanted to get married in the winter at a cabin surrounded by just a few of their close friends and family before throwing a big party to celebrate. I loved this idea and was ready and excited for whatever they planned.
They told me they rented an airbnb for the small ceremony so I wasn’t expecting too much, but as I approached the cabin I knew they had struck gold. This gorgeous cabin was huge and more than capable of hosting all their guests for an evening of fun that would go late into the night. When I arrived, Sarah had just finished putting on the finishing touches and was ready to go find Alex among the snow drifts. He waited on the freshly shoveled deck overlooking the beautiful frozen lake. Her footsteps crunched on the fresh snow and his smile grew wide as he heard he come around the corner. Their eyes lit up the second they saw one another and they had a permanent smile on their faces.
We escaped back into the warm cabin just in time for their guests to take their seat in the living room. Their officiant dawned a warm trapper hat and Sarah wore a cozy winter shawl topped off with a tiara. It was the trapper hat/tiara combo that had me smiling the whole ceremony. They exchanged loving vows and the room erupted into applause as they kissed and were pronounced husband and wife. We snuck outside to enjoy the last light of the day before the sun completely sank below the horizon. Then it was back inside for board games, some incredible food, and the best slumber party ever!
One week later, I got to see my new friends again when we were all reunited at the Minneapolis Event Center for their reception celebration. We met up early before the party began so we could enjoy the beautiful space and take some photos of the glowing newlyweds. We made it back just as the sun was setting and the party was ready to welcome the guests of honor. Cheers rang through the ballroom and heartfelt toasts were exchanged. Then the couple took to the dance floor under a sea of hanging crystals and lights. It was gorgeous and the perfect place for their first dance as a married couple.
